Food waste research

Research into community knowledge, attitudes and behaviour reveals community education is the key to avoiding food waste.

NSW Government research

To better understand community knowledge, attitudes and behaviour in relation to household food waste, 1200 NSW households were surveyed in 2009 as part of a Food Waste Avoidance Benchmark Study:

The Love Food Hate Waste statistics relating to food waste knowledge, attitudes and behaviour are derived from this 2009 survey. The survey was performed by Woolcott Research for the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water (NSW).
