Love Food Hate Waste Grants Program

The Love Food Hate Waste Program provides successful local councils, non-profit organisations and community groups with grant funding to assist with the implementation of local food waste avoidance education projects targeting households.

In Round 1 (2011-2012) 14 education projects were funded to the value of $201,655 to raise awareness about the food waste issue and to help households waste less food, save money and our environment.

17 grants to the total of $292,050 have been awarded in Round 2 (2012-2013). These projects will provide householders with skills to avoid wasting food at home.
