Where, how and how much food waste does your workplace generate?

The basic questions you need to answer are:
- Where is food waste being generated i.e. is it through over-ordering, purchasing, preparing, serving or storing food?
- How much food waste is being generated in each of these areas and why?
- What can be improved?
Do a visual check and make notes about the types of food in the bin, how much there is and possible reasons for it being put in the bin.
If your workplace is generating a substantial amount of food waste, and you wish to do a more thorough investigation to find out where food waste is being generated, you could do a food waste audit.
