Love Food Challenge Giveaway 2025
The NSW EPA’s Love Food Hate Waste (LFHW) program is managing the Love Food Challenge. LFHW is offering one $50 grocery voucher to 100 eligible winners who complete the final survey and are selected in a random draw at the end of the Love Food Challenge.
Terms and conditions
The Competition
1. The competition is the Love Food Challenge Giveaway (the Competition).
2. The Competition is being run by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) (ABN 43 692 285 758) in accordance with the Community Gaming Act 2018 and its regulations.
3. Rules and requirements for the Competition are set out in these terms and conditions.
4. By participating in the Competition, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Entries must comply with these conditions to be valid.
5. The Competition is a game of chance and winners will be chosen at random.
Eligibility
6. The Competition is open to NSW residents over 18 years of age, unless otherwise stated in these terms and conditions.
7. The following persons are ineligible to enter this Competition:
a. board members, directors, management, or employees of the EPA, as well as their immediate families.
b. board members, directors, management, or employees of any retailers, suppliers, associated entities and agencies associated with this competition are ineligible to enter, as well as their immediate families.
How to Enter
8. To enter the competition entrants must:
a. complete the Love Food Hate Waste Challenge Survey (Survey);
b. provide their name and contact details (including address, phone number and email), at the end of the Survey under the section titled Contact Details; and
c. consent to their name being published on the EPA website.
9. Multiple entries are not permitted.
Draw Date and Time
10. All valid entries will be included in the draw.
11. To be considered valid, entrants must complete the Survey between 12/10/2025 12 pm AEDT and 27/10/2025 11.59pm AEDT.
12. The winners will be drawn at random on [17/11/2025] at the NSW EPA’s Head Office at 6 Parramatta Square, Parramatta NSW 2150 (the Prize Draw).
13. The first 100 valid entries drawn will be the winners of the prize.
Prize Winner Notification and Publication
14. Winner(s) will be notified within 14 days of the Prize Draw Date.
15. Winner(s) will be notified in writing via email, using the email address provided when completing the Survey.
16. Winner(s) first name and initial of surname, will be published on the Love Food Hate Waste NSW website.
Prize(s)
17. The total value of the prize pool is $5,000.
18. The prize(s) are 100 x $50 gift vouchers (the Prize). Each gift voucher is valid until the expiry date specified on the gift voucher or by the gift voucher provider. Each gift voucher is not transferable or redeemable for cash. The NSW EPA will not be responsible for any gift voucher that is lost or stolen.
Claiming Prize(s)
19. Winner(s) must contact the EPA the claim a Prize in writing via email to [email protected]
20. The EPA will make all reasonable efforts to contact the Winner(s).
21. If any Prize remains unclaimed three months after the Prize Draw, an unclaimed prize draw will be held at 6 Parramatta Square, Parramatta NSW 2150 on [16/2/2026]. The winners will be drawn at random (the Unclaimed Prize Draw).
22. Winner(s) of the Unclaimed Prize Draw will be notified in the same manner as set out in clauses Prize Winner Notification and Publication above.
Prize Delivery
23. Once claimed, Prizes will be delivered within 28 days of the date the Winner has contacted the EPA.
24. Winner(s) will not incur a cost to claim or accept a Prize.
Prize Substitution
25. Where a Prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the EPA’s control, the EPA reserves the right to substitute a Prize with a prize of equal or greater value, subject to any contrary direction from a regulatory authority.
26. Use of Entrant’s Personal Information
27. All Personal Information (including name, address, and email) will only be used for the permitted purpose of conducting this competition in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
28. The NSW EPA must comply with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW), which regulates the collection, storage, quality, use and disclosure of personal information.
29. All Personal Information gathered as part of the Competition will be dealt with in accordance with the NSW EPA’s Privacy Policy located on the NSW EPA website epa.nsw.gov.au, as well as any relevant statutory obligations.
30. Entrants may access, change or update their Personal Information by contacting the NSW EPA in writing via email to [email protected]
31. Entrants agree to their first name and initial of their surname being published on the LFHW website if they are a Competition winner.
Warranties
32. Entrants warrant that the NSW EPA is not responsible for any loss, damage or injury to Entrants resulting from entering or participating in this Competition, including arising from any comments made, or material published, by third parties about the Entrants in connection with this Competition.
33. Entrants warrant that the NSW EPA is not liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered as a result of the Winner(s) accepting and/or using a Prize, except as provided for by law.
34. Entrants warrant that the NSW EPA is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered by any Winner as arising from, or in connection with, the Prize supplied by the Prize Supplier, or the conduct of the Prize Supplier.
General
35. An Entrant is responsible for notifying the NSW EPA should the Entrant’s contact details change during the Competition Period. Any such request should be made to the NSW EPA in writing via email to [email protected]
36. The NSW EPA will make all reasonable efforts to abide by the dates and timeframes set out in these terms and conditions. The NSW EPA reserves the right to varying any terms and conditions, due to operational issues or logistic restraints. If the NSW EPA is required to make any changes to the Competition, it will take all reasonable steps to ensure Entrants will be notified. Any changes to the Competition will also be made publicly available on the NSW EPA’s website at [lovefoodhatewaste.nsw.gov.au].
37. The NSW EPA reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant where they have breached any of these terms and conditions.
38. Any dispute relating to the conduct of this Competition, the interpretation of these Terms and Conditions, or the claiming of a Prize must be made in writing to the EPA within 14 days of the dispute arising.
39. The EPA will review all disputes in good faith and make a reasonable effort to resolve the dispute within 28 days of receiving it.
40. Any decision in relation to the draw made by NSW EPA is final and not negotiable by any person.
41. If, for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the NSW EPA, this Competition is not capable of running as planned, the NSW EPA reserves the right in its sole discretion to take any action that may be available to it, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, unless to do so would be prohibited by law.
