Become a hero, pledge zero!

I know, I know… the word ‘zero’ can seem overwhelming. However, this month’s theme is all about sharing knowledge and inspiring ourselves and those around us to make small, manageable improvements in the kitchen that over time, can have a positive impact on the environment and your hip pocket.

1 October 2021

This October, we’ll be sharing our favourite zero-food-waste stories, helpful hacks and savvy meal suggestions that make the most of seasonal produce, and demonstrate how simple actions and techniques, little by little, can help you reduce food waste at home.

To share the love, we ask you to hero friends, family members and local businesses that are inspiring change at home or in their local communities. By sharing food-loving insights and passing on knowledge, we have the ability to inspire positive habits among those around us.

Inspired by our #ZeroHero theme, we’ll be announcing our new #PowerfulPartnership with The Happy Hens.

Lastly, we want to recognise you - our food-loving community heroes! We’d love to hear what steps you’re taking to waste less, so be sure to share them with us in the comment sections on our Instagram and Facebook pages.

Being a #ZeroHero is all about making progress, not being perfect. If we ALL make small steps, just imagine the impact we can have! I’ve started us off by using up my withering berries in a delicious blueberry jam (check it out, I’m very proud and it’s very yummy).
